Farm-Fit Challenge Brought Fun and Fitness to Heim’s Hillcrest Dairy
On October 4th, 2025, Heim’s Hillcrest Dairy welcomed participants for its first-ever Farm-Fit Challenge, a farm-inspired obstacle course adventure that tested strength, agility, and endurance—all with a rural twist. The approximately 1.2 mile course featured authentic farm-themed challenges such as feeding calves, flipping tires, moving hoses, carrying gates, and climbing over hay bales. Designed for all fitness levels, the event provided a memorable experience for everyone, from beginners trying something new to seasoned athletes ready for a fresh challenge.
After conquering the course, participants rewarded themselves with a refreshing yogurt bar and milk sponsored by Kewaunee County Dairy Promotion and enjoyed an optional guided farm tour to learn more about the dairy industry and daily life on a working farm. The tours offered a behind-the-scenes look at the cows, facilities, and operations that make Heim’s Hillcrest Dairy a cornerstone of the local agricultural community.
Those who registered early received a free Farm-Fit Challenge T-shirt, and everyone had the chance to take home a gift bag provided by our sponsors, Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, BelGiosio Cheese, Salmon’s Meat Products, Ron’s Wisconsin Cheese, and Wonder Cow. There was also a chance to win door prizes at the event sponsored by Homestead Kitchen & Tap, Salmon’s Meat Products, The Glen Innish Farm, Sweeny’s Outfitters, von Stiehl Winery, Baby Gifts by Annette, Home Decor by Heidi DeGrave, and Mullin’s Whey. Beyond the competition, the day was about community, connection, and celebrating the hard work that goes into modern farming.
To keep the fun going, many families returned in the afternoon for Heim’s Moo-tober Fest, which featured live music, farm tours, food trucks, and family-friendly activities. Together, the Farm-Fit Challenge and Moo-tober Fest made for a day full of fitness, fun, and farm life—truly a legen-DAIRY celebration at Heim’s Hillcrest Dairy. We are excited to bring the event back in 2026!
Thank you to our sponsors for making this event and Moo-tober Fest possible!

Can’t wait!
It was Great Fun! Thanks for putting the day on. Didn’t make Mootober, unfortunately. I will next year though. Thanks to your great sponsors also. Great educational experience for the community. They get to see a family dairy farm with lots of technology, cleanliness, where so of their food comes from.
